Tinnitune Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Overview
Tinnitune is built to work entirely on your device. There is no account to create and no company server that stores your personal information — everything you enter stays on your phone unless you choose to export it yourself.
Information We Don't Collect (In The App)
Inside Tinnitune itself, we don't collect your name, email address, or any account details, because there's no account. We don't track your location, and we don't use advertising trackers of any kind.
Email Sign-Ups On This Website
This section covers shahwave.com, separately from the app above. If you enter your email to receive a free guide or other resource from this website, we do collect that email address. It's sent via FormSubmit, a third-party form-processing service, and used to deliver what you signed up for and to send occasional updates about Tinnitune and other ShahWave products — never sold or shared with advertisers. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe, and you can ask us to delete your email entirely at any time by contacting [email protected].
Information Stored On Your Device
Your tinnitus profile, journal entries, ear calibration, session history, presets, and program progress are all stored locally on your device using standard on-device storage. Tinnitune never transmits this information anywhere. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes it. You can also create your own backup file from Settings — that file is generated and stored by you; we never see it.
Purchases
If you buy Premium, the purchase itself is processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play. Tinnitune uses RevenueCat to validate that purchase and unlock features — RevenueCat receives purchase and receipt information along with a device identifier, but not your journal, tinnitus profile, or other health-related content. See RevenueCat's own privacy policy for details on how they handle that data.
Crash & Error Reports
To help us find and fix bugs, Tinnitune uses Sentry to automatically collect crash reports and technical diagnostic information — things like device model, OS version, and the error that occurred — when the app crashes or hits an unexpected problem. These reports don't include your journal entries, tinnitus profile, or other personal health content.
Health-Related Information
Some of what you enter — your tinnitus profile, daily journal, calibration results — relates to your health. This information stays on your device. It is never sent to us, sold, or shared with advertisers, and is used only to personalize your experience within the app itself, such as recommending a program.
Apple Health (iOS)
If you choose to connect Apple Health from Settings, Tinnitune reads your headphone audio exposure data (if available) to show you a loudness summary. This is read-only — Tinnitune never writes to Apple Health — and the data stays on your device like everything else in this section. You can disconnect at any time from Settings, and Apple's own Health app lets you revoke access entirely from iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Health.
Children
Tinnitune isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect information from children.
Medical Disclaimer
Tinnitune is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It is designed to support you alongside — not replace — care from a qualified healthcare professional.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this screen with an updated date.
